What is it?

What if your MSX had a USB connection? The MSX-USB Cartridge provides a USB interface for MSX computers, inspired by Xavirompe's RookieDrive project. Connect USB flash drives, load games, mount DSK disk images, and more — all from your MSX cartridge slot.

Uses a CH376s USB module interfaced to the MSX cartridge port. Supports FAT16/32 flash drives.

Two Recommended BIOS Versions

• MSX-USB Next v0.5 (2023-05-20) — Fast game selection interface at boot. Easily run 720KB DSK format games. Press a letter to select and launch instantly. Best for quick DSK game play.
• MSX-USB Nextor USB Host v0.5 (2020-06-15) — Perfect emulation of large-capacity hard drive images (128MB). Auto-mounts nextor.dsk from flash drive root and launches Sofarun at boot. Fully compatible with Sofarun for ROM games. Best for hard drive emulation.

What makes it special?
