What is it?
2xOPN MegaMod is made with two original YM2203 chips, which can play PC88/98 or some arcade music.
Why did you make it?
In 2020, natalie open-sourced the OPL3 and OPNA music modules. A year later, natalie wanted to use MegaGRRL to play some 2xYM2203 music, so we worked together to complete the design of this module. Natalie developed the vgm playback driver, and I designed the hardware. After several years of hardware revisions, the final version came out in 2025.
