What is it?
A simplified version of the MSX OPM sound card, retaining the most important OPM (YM2151) chip with excellent sound quality. Uses only a single 5V power supply (not ±12V), making it compatible with all MSX computers including clones and single-chip MSX systems.
To run VGMPlay for VGM/VGZ playback, you need MSX-DOS2 or above and as much extended memory as possible.

- Optional VSIF MIDI module for MIDI performance functions
- Two-board modular design: MSX-to-RE2 bus converter + RE2-YM2151 music module
Starting SFG BIOS
Make sure Basic is loaded, then type _musica or call musica and press Enter. The BIOS starts immediately. A jumper selects between SFG-01 and SFG-05 BIOS. To exit, reboot your MSX.
Notes
- No physical MIDI port (MIDI-IN/OUT pins available on board for restoration)
- Can enter SFG-01 BIOS normally; SFG-05 BIOS entry not supported
- MDX files must be under 32KB; avoid deep directory structures for MXDRV
- Use with VSIF for full MIDI performance functionality
